On August 19th, 2009 my wife and I flew from Minneapolis to Chicago, then to Beijing, China, to participate in a cruise / tour adventure with Viking River Cruises, and their Imperial Jewels of China 12-day excursion. Early morning June 17th we packed our bags, my wife Terri and I, and my son Jacob departed Minneapolis non-stop for Vancouver to embark on an Alaska cruise adventure aboard Regent’s Seven Seas Mariner. I wish I would have kept a writing blog during the cruise on the Norwegian Pearl, but I was too busy, and I don't have a lap top yet. It was a short cruise out of New York City aboard a brand new ship called the Eurodam, Holland America's first Signature-Class vessel. I brought my wife, who has never been to New York so I was thrilled to show her around the usual spots like Times Square, the Brooklyn Bridge, ground zero, the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.
